high quality staff, facilities, restaurant and bed!
A Beautiful Country Manor. Excellent size rooms, wonderful food and staff.
Lovely location and gardens, plenty of room for little ones to run about. Easy to get to the Chilterns and other attractions. The staff were very polite and helpful and the rooms spacious and very tastefully decorated.
Breakfast was a bit on the sparse side.
Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights as we were attending a wedding closeby
We were in the old part of the hotel and the room was shabby. There was one small mirror on the wall but no power point to it! There was no full length mirror, How you are supposed to dry your hair and check your appearance who knows! Reception did supply an extension lead to help but overall mirror was too small and too high on the wall as I am only 5ft 1inch! Only one chair to sit on and no shelving in the bathroom Nowhere to put toiletries.
There was no hot water in the morning and all I got was an apology a reduction in the bill would have been more acceptable. We were unable to have a shower or wash properly
English style hotel, with very nice park and nice rooms. Quite and exclusive with the chance, if you want, to play golf. Large rooms and WiFi all over the hotel. In my opinion is also a good place to set working appointment.
The receptionists are not that very friendly, but this is very common around English hotel service. I mean, I don't know if this is my case but everytime I go in England I get this impression. I wanted to change my room because was facing very bad view (some walls) and I have been told that the hotel was fully booked. Strange. because there were only few cars at the parking lot...Another common thing is the breakfast, very poor and not sufficient for the hotel style. Location is not very convenient if you want to go in town without taking the car. Prices are not worth it the service, the place and the breakfast, which in my opinion are the most valuable thing that customers look at.
The location and overall setting for the hotel itself was excellent.
The bar and formal dining room are very clinical - no real lounge area for food etc and relax
Lovely and relaxing, perfect to go to at the end of a busy day at the office. Perfect also for a romantic weekend break
Modern accommodation, peaceful and quiet setting.
Restaurant has limited choice. Staff there are quite junior and need trainng, ie courteous but slow and disorganised, customers need to manage them. Food was fine.
Quiet countryside location. Comfortable sized room.
Poorly stocked tea/coffee tray in room. Small double bed with hard mattress. Room size good if only 2 people occupying but third bed space made room feel uncomfortable. Hotel trying to be more than it is.
Reception staff were very welcoming. Location perfect for client meeting next morning.
The walks, the relaxation, the luxury. Excellent menu and food
the whole scenaray was gorgeous
The breakfast was excellent and fast service for so many people being there.
Afternoon girl on reception not very friendly, a real put off.
Very disappionting it did not live up to expectations, it was not a country manor more like a conference or wedding hotel. The staff feel it is a very low consideration to book their guests in for a meal as they are too busy with golfers. I was given a 9.30 meal slot which was not acceptable. The manager eventually gave me an earlier slot. A most disappionting stay, we would not go back!
